About: Celebrating 'La Joie De Vivre' & the time tested pursuit of dance passion
as a lifework, a calling, a destiny. Teresa Johnson, of Santa Barbara Dance Center, presents DANCE AT THE TOP OF THE HILL! In this concert Johnson invites choreographers in their 40s, 50s, and 60s to join her in creating a production that celebrates their longevity in the field of dance! Each choreographer will be using at least one dancer over 40 in their choreographic work with many of them dancing in their own works.
Their intent is to inspire people to abandon an “over the hill” mentality and daringly adopt a “live at the top of the hill” attitude instead.
This dynamic show will captivate & inspire audiences by presenting works created by these seasoned professionals in a wide variety of dance forms: contemporary, jazz, swing, Latin, dance theater, and belly dance.
